A maioria de vocês já deve ter se tocado que o nosso e-mail de ontem foi uma brincadeira de Primeiro de Abril. Queremos agradecer a todos os que responderam com votos de felicidade, parabéns, bençãos, etc. :-)

Algumas pessoas fizeram algumas perguntas, então aqui vão algumas informações, para os curiosos.

O Vestido
Compramos o vestido numa loja de roupas usadas, a Value Village.

O Véu
Uma toalha de mesa, também comprada na Value Village. Taara vai trazer as duas peças de volta e trocá-las por outras roupas mais moderninhas.

O Anel
É um anel da Taara, mas na foto não é possivel ver se não é uma aliança de noivado ou casamento. Deu pra enganar bonitinho!

A Igreja
Na verdade, não é possível ver a igreja toda nas fotos que enviamos. Queriamos manter o tamanho do e-mail razoável, pra que pessoas com conexões lentas pudessem lê-lo. Inclui uma foto abaixo que mostra a igreja toda. É uma igrejinha perto da nossa universidade, perfeita para um casamento repentino de Primeiro de Abril.

As Árvores
Cerejeiras que estão florindo na nossa faculdade, a Trinity Western University. Não são lindas?

As Fotos
Meu companheiro de apartamento, Kevin, tirou as fotos com uma câmera digital. Elas ficaram demais! A única manipulação fotográfica foi a alteração de duas delas para uma cor Sepia, e um "crop" para remover coisas que não queriamos nas fotos como casas, carros, etc. O e-mail e as quatro fotos podem ser vistas nesse mesmo site. Meu amigo Doug também colocou as fotos no site dele e mandou o link para uma lista da qual faço parte. Louquinho!

Coisas Que Deveriam Ter Chamado A Atenção
1. O vestido horrível. Parece coisa do século 19.
2. A toalha de mesa na cabeça da Taara. Nenhuma noiva que se preze...
3. A falta de outras pessoas em todas as fotos.
4. A porta da igreja FECHADA.
5. O fato de que estou vestido só num terno comum.
6. Na foto onde estou carregando a Taara, dá pra ver a etiqueta da Value Village!
7. Viu alguma outra? Faça um comentário!

Quantos Caíram Nessa?
Alguns perguntaram quantos acreditaram no e-mail. Fiz um gráfico abaixo que mostra a porcentagem de pessoas que responderam (ou das quais ouvimos falar) e a proporção de pessoas que creram e não creram. Como vocês podem ver, a maioria das pessoas caíram direitinho. :-)

Pedimos desculpas se alguém levou tudo muito a sério e se irritou (até agora só sei de uma pessoa, todas as outras só deram risada quando dissemos que não era pra valer).

By now most of you have figured out that our e-mail sent yesterday was an April Fool's joke. We'd like to thank those who responded with best wishes, congratulations, blessings, etc. :-)

Some people have asked a few questions, here's a bit of info for the curious.

The Dress
We bought the dress at Value Village (a thrift store, for the uninitiated).

The Veil
Table cloth, also bought at Value Village. Taara is going to take both of them back and exchange them for some cool clothes (she's excited about that part).

The Ring
Just one of Taara's rings, but in the pictures you can't really tell it's not an engagement ring or a wedding band. :-)

The Church
Actually, you can't really see the whole church in the pictures. We wanted to keep the e-mail size down so that people on slow connections could get it. I've included a picture below that shows the whole church. It's a small church near our university, and just the perfect place for eloping (or pretending to).

The Trees
Cherry trees in full bloom at Trinity Western University. Don't they look nice?

The Pictures
My roommate Kevin took the pictures with his digital camera. They turned out very nice. The only photo manipulation was changing two of them to Sepia color and cropping them so that they didn't include unwanted things like buildings, cars, etc. The e-mail and the four pictures can be viewed on this site. My friend Doug also put them up on his Web site and sent the link to an e-mail list I'm on. NUTS!

Things That Should Have Tipped You Off
1. The hideous dress. It has 1800's written all over it.
2. The tablecloth on Taara's head. Seriously.
3. The lack of other people in all the pictures.
4. The CLOSED church door.
5. The fact that I'm not wearing a tuxedo.
6. In the picture where I'm carrying her, the Value Village tag is visible on the dress!

How Many Fell For It?
Some asked how many people believed us. I've made a little chart and included it below. It shows the percentage of people that responded (or that we heard about) and the ratio of belief to unbelief. As you can see, most people fell for it. :-)

Our apologies to anyone who took it too seriously and got upset at us (this only applies to one person as far as we can tell, all others responded with laughter when we told them what was really going on).

Querida Família e Amigos,

Não conseguimos mais esperar. Nos últimos dez meses Taara e eu descobrimos o quanto nos amamos, e decidimos passar o resto das nossas vidas juntos! Decidimos que não valia a pena esperar. Anexamos algumas fotos do nosso casamento no dia 31 de Março.

Dear Family and Friends,

We just couldn’t wait any longer. Over the last ten months we have realized how much we love each other, and that we want to spend the rest of our lives together. We didn't see much of a point in waiting. Here are some pictures from our wedding on March 31st.
